Sneak Peak of Brand New Collection

Friday, May 10th, 2013

We have an incredible team behind us at Rachel Simpson Shoes, so it’s always a huge pleasure spending the day at incredibly beautiful venues, shooting  our ‘soon to be launched’ collection.

One of our favourite haunts is Highbury Hall in Birmingham, a truly gorgeous stately home hidden in the heart of Moseley village. It’s here that we bring together a huge array of clever folk from the wedding world to create some truly stunning images.

The exceptional talents of Emma Case, (huge girl crush!) photographer extraordinaire, joined by Jodie Hazlewood, who we would love to move in with us and make us over every morning.  Gorgeous gowns from The Wedding Club and Elizabeth Avey, men’s suits courtesy of Clements and Church, accessories from Laurel Lime and styling from the extremely clever and so blummin’ nice Ava Event Styling.

Topped off perfectly by our beautiful models for the day, Jodi (could double for Rachel Weisz) and the sweetest couple Leanne and Dave, who are getting married later this year. Leanne runs Blooming Lovely Films and now has a career in modelling to fall back on whenever she chooses!

The new collection launches soon and here’s a little hint from behind the scenes…

Hazaar of London Sneak Peek

Thursday, May 9th, 2013

Our lovely friends at Hazaar of London were kind enough to send us over a few sneaky peek shots of their new collection from a recent shoot that we provided shoes for.

What we would give to be sat at this tea party and devouring these cakes!

Can you spot the gorgeous Carmen in the shots above?  Images courtesy of Frederick Sandy.

New collection photoshoot..

Thursday, December 13th, 2012

Afternoon! It’s been a little while since I sat down and wrote my blog, but today I have good reason to get typing! I’ve just received the results of our latest photoshoot from the lovely Emma Case. Oh, and did I mention, they’re amazing..

Last week we headed over to the stunning Hagley Hall with Emma, the talented Makeup by Jodie, and our beautiful model Lana. With gorgeous new collection shoes all packed up, together with some stunning accessories from Laurel Lime and Shaper Millinery, we set to taking some truly beautiful shots.

Don’t forget- all these beautiful accessories are currently a sparkling 20% off for the whole of December- visit our brand new accessories marketplace to view the full collection!

All the dresses were from The Wedding Club- simply stunning.

Beautiful new photos

Tuesday, July 17th, 2012

As promised, the time has come to show you the results of our photoshoot the other day (some of you may have seen a sneak peek on Love My Dress). This is our third collaboration with the super-talented Emma Case, and this time we wanted to do something a little different. We chose a large, empty studio space to work with, to create more of a fashion-inspired, stylised shoot. Filling it with balloons and fresh flowers, coupled with some photographer jiggery-pokery by Emma gave us the dreamy look we were after..

The joy of working with some truly lovely stockists up and down the country, is that they very kindly lend us their beautiful frocks for shoots such as this. A veritable feast of dresses from The Wedding Club, Naomi Neoh, Fur Coat No Knickers and Timeless Couture compliment the new collection perfectly.

Shoes, photos and a big pink balloon

Friday, July 6th, 2012

Happy Friday everyone- can’t believe it’s the weekend again! This time last week we were busy getting the final bits and pieces sorted for our photoshoot, which took place on Monday, and was really rather fun (and a bit of hard work too)!

We were lucky enough to be working with the dream team again, with the fabulous, award-winning Emma Case behind the lens and the mega talented Makeup by Jodie not only doing incredible makeup but also gorgeous hair too! Our beautiful models this time were the stunning Talia and Emme, who looked ever more glamorous as the day went on, as I got more bedraggled running around (thank Friday for coffee)!

We wanted to go for something a bit different this time, so planned a more fashion-inspired, stylised shoot. After the beauty of last season’s venue (Highbury Hall), it was a real challenge using an empty studio, but we had great fun selecting props, including our magical giant pink balloon (thanks to the fabulous Pete Smyth for the balloon-mission)!

Huge thanks to Fur Coat No Knickers, Naomi Neoh, The Wedding Club and Timeless Couture for letting us use their ridiculously delicious frocks. And a good frock needs a good accessory or two, so thanks to Laurel Lime and Sharper Millinery for their yummy sparkliness!

Much fun was had by all, and we’re really rather excited about the results. We can’t show you just yet, but rumour has it they’ll be appearing on a rather well known blog early next week.. watch this space!

Friday, May 20th, 2011

We were asked by the lovely Charlotte of Rock My Wedding to lend her some shoes for a photo shoot recently.

And we were more than happy when we saw this beautiful lady ‘rocking’ our Sabine.

In A State!

Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011

We’re in love! Not only have we found a new stately home to swoon and get all ‘Downton Abbey’ over (the stunning Hagley Hall in Worcestershire) but we think these pictures of our shoes, that have been sent to us from our friends James Crockford Photography are truly gorgeous!

James asked us to lend him some shoes, namely Marilyn and Carmen, for his bridal shoot this week and we were more than happy to, just a shame we weren’t able to take them in person and lose ourselves in the grandeur and romance of it all!

Boho Bride Steps into 1920

Sunday, May 1st, 2011

A lot of inspiration for our shoe designs comes from the 20s and 30s. Here at Rachel Simpson Shoes we take essences of these bygone eras and mix them with contemporary trends to create simply beautiful shoes for brides to be.

Our gorgeous firey-haired friend Kelly from Boho Weddings and Events told us about a 20s inspired photo shoot she was planning so we agreed to send her some shoes for what looks like an incredible day’s photography.

We caught up with Kelly afterwards and asked her why this particular era ticked all her boxes…”The idea originally was to just do a few promotional shots but as we talked more it came apparent that we saw the potential to do more than that and so it turned into a full on photo shoot. I’ve always loved that era,  the styling and the dresses were just so stunning back then, so we thought it was the perfect idea for us to use this decade to create some stunning photography.”

Have a look at the whole shooting match on the Boho Weddings and Events blog and here are a few of our favourite shots courtesy of Sassy from Assassynation.
