Sweet treats

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

Here at Rachel Simpson Shoes, we are lucky to know some truly fabulous local businesses that, like us, have bundles of imagination and creativity. A new friend of ours is the truly delicious Bedazzled Desserts, creators of simply scummy cupcakes for all occasions.

Bedazzled_weddingWe took our vintage bridal shoes and joined them at a recent event and had fun learning the art of frosting, which is a lot harder than it looks!! They were definitely a favourite amongst the guests there and we even managed to eat a little sweet treat ourselves before they were all gone – scrumptioius!

These gorgeous little treats would be perfect as an alternative to the traditional wedding cake too!

DSC_0013smallRachel Simpson Shoes attends the National Wedding Show at Birmingham’s NEC every year to showcase our vintage shoes for brides and other special occasions and we never cease to be amazed by the reaction from you to our collections.

Our feet are not quite back on the ground yet, as we are just finishing another bridal show in Harrogate, but we just wanted to say a huge thank you for coming to see us on our stand and for the fabulous reaction we’ve received for our brand new Pearl Collection, which launches this month.

We’re very lucky to have some celebrity friends that like to pop on to the stand for a chat and this time we were very excited to meet wedding expert Jane Dayus-Hinch from tv’s Wedding SOS which begins on 6th April.

Wedding Soiree Success

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

DSC_0234Here at Rachel Simpson Shoes we have some amazing friends across the UK, all, like us, passionate about creating beautiful weddings for gorgeous brides by providing the very best in what we do.

We’re joined forces this month with one of our favourite photographers and other amazing bridal companies to show our collections at the Missy Mo Photography Charity Wedding Soiree at the very funky Jewel in London.

Brides & Grooms-to-be were treated to a Bellini reception, a pampering boudoir filled with beauty therapists, hair stylists and nail technicians to offer advice and expert tips for the big day, Oscar-worthy wedding frocks, seductive lingerie, an exclusive catwalk show from Joe McCombe, with vintage shoes supplied by yours truly and if that wasn’t enough, a room full to bursting with suppliers of wine, champagne, magic tricks, photography, bouquets and cupcakes (served up by hunky topless butlers!).

DSC_0245Profits from the event went to Make-A-Wish Foundation UK. Make-A-Wish is the leading wish granting charity that grants magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses.

Spring is in the Air!

Monday, March 8th, 2010

We don’t know about you but we’ve had about enough snow and ice and cold biting winds to last us a lifetime, so we’re more than ready to welcome the spring with open arms and open toes!

daffodils-21And nothing says spring like a good clean and no, we are not talking cobwebs and that drawer that you hide things in when you don’t really know where they belong (although you can get to those later). We think you should take a good look at your closet girls and finally bag up those winter boots to make room for pretty, delicate, spring-inducing shoes.

Our new vintage shoe collection is almost ready and we are so, so thrilled and excited with the results. Not only will there be 15 brand new designs for you to coo over, we’re launching a new addition to the Rachel Simpson Shoes family that will give every pair of shoes in your wardrobe a brand new look!

News on these exciting developments will be here first, so add our blog to your favourites and don’t go anywhere!
