Here is the final blog in our mini series brought to you by yours truly at Rachel Simpson Shoes and our fabulous friends at The Wedding Club and Sharper Millinery.

Today’s final look is for the hopeless romantics in all of us.  This divine, floaty, ultra feminine, silk chiffon gown is called Saskia from the Jenny Packham 2011 collection.

Sally Harper, milliner extraordinaire never fails to amaze us with her creations, some bold and in your face, some discreet, simple yet absolutely beautiful.  For this dress, Sally has picked two headpieces, the first adorned with delicate butterflies and the second, a vintage inspired floral tiara.

Pick any of our girls in Ivory and they’re sure to be the perfect shoe for this outfit, but we have picked a couple to help you decide. We couldn’t help but fall head over feet in love with Fleur and Lola, both simple but classic with their own individual delightful touches.Fleur low resLola Ivory side low res

Greetings from Lucy Ledger Designs

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

If you’re a fan of Twitter, you can follow us @rachelshoes. If you follow us already, you’ll notice that we follow and regularly retweet about some of our favourite wedding companies currently doing their thing out there in Bridesville. A current favourite of ours; someone else that is a bit quirky and full of vintage inspiration is Lucy Ledger Designs, who design and sell greeting cards, prints and wedding stationery for the bride to be that wants something a little different and that reflects their personality. Since the launch of her business in March this year, Lucy Ledger has quickly become a name to watch out for, we found out why…Lucy Ledger Logo (2)

How did you get into the industry?
I have been a professional illustrator and graphic designer for 10 years after I graduated from Manchester with a BA Hons degree in Illustration. I decided to set up a stationery business after I got married last year and couldn’t find any stationery that reflected our personalities!

Country garden- INVITE-proofWhat’s your best seller?
I have two best sellers at the moment- the ‘Country Garden’ collection for the bride and Groom who wants something quintessentially English and the ‘Cool Britannia’ collection for couples who want to rock the British theme!

Which designer from your industry inspires you and why?
From an artists point of view I love Peter Blake and Tim Burton for their imagination and pure quirkiness- both where a huge inspiration to me through my university years. As for fellow Stationers; I like designers who stick to a unique personal style throughout their designs and branding- my absolute favourites at the moment are ‘Bunny Delicious’ and ‘Sugalily

Grass_RocknRollBride-268_blog lowTell us about someone you follow on Twitter that we should be following or an fashion-related blog that our fans should be reading and why
Kat from Rock n Roll Bride is great to follow on Twitter- She is an inspirational wedding blogger with original ideas but she doesn’t just tweet about the latest blog posts- her personality really shines through.

What are you looking forward to for the rest of the year?
Lots to look forward to this year! The wedding range is expanding with lots of new collections being added over the next couple of months, I will be introducing a high-end hand finished pocketfold collection later this summer, I will have a stand at the vintage wedding fayre in Harrogate in September and a fantastic promo photoshoot with Emma Case next month.

In your industry, tell us what you think is going to be hot next season
I have had a lot of recent interest in the ‘Divine Deco’ collection so I think vintage will still be big but with more of an emphasis on 20s and 30s glamour.

Describe your personal fashion style
Boho, girly and a little bit shabby chic!

What is your favourite pair of Rachel Simpson shoes?
ALL OF THEM!! I really love all of Rachel’s designs but if I had to pick one I would choose the Fleur design for being quirky but beautiful!Fleur 163 low

Pick a pair of Rachel Simpson Shoes and match it to something you sell, why this combination?
I would pick the Mimi in Lilac Satin to go with my ‘Country Garden’ range as they are classically English and so pretty just like this collection!Mimi 127 low
