We had a chat to Penny and Nadia the creatives behind Florrie and Eve to discover how they started, what inspires them and of course their favorites pieces!
Tell us a little bit about you? (how did you set up Florrie and Eve)
Nadia and I have been friends and worked with each other in the wedding industry for years, with very similar style tastes. We decided to create Florrie & Eve over coffee one rainy morning whilst discussing how many brides seemed to want something organic and more traditional and thought we would combine Nadia’s floristry with my design skills and Florrie & Eve was created.
How long does it take you to make your headpieces?
Each piece is hand made and can take between two to four hours to fully add all the perfect details to our pieces.
What materials do you use?
We use faux and silk flowers, some beading, ribbon and decorative wires to create each piece. Some pieces can have up to 150 individual pieces in it to complete.
What inspires you?
Anything visual from Ballets (love Michael Bournes productions, sets and costumes) to music video and films. We are always fans of exhibitions and love the V&A museum and regularly use art history as inspiration (love the pre Raphaelites)
Favourite piece in the Florrie and Eve for Rachel Simpson collection?
Penny – Hmm tough one, but I think my favourite style is the Jemma Reverser Crown in foliage its just so lovely with the smoke coloured blooms and mixture of textures and looks great with a veil.
Nadia – I love the dainty little Petal shoe clips in peach.
Favourite Rachel Simpson shoe and why?
Nadia – I love the new Isabelle style especially in ‘ice’ for your something blue!
